Established by the United States Department of Agriculture, both programs are administered at the Federal level by the Food and Nutrition Services branch. Billions of grant dollars are annually allocated across the 50 states for the administration of these food programs. State agencies approve sponsoring organizations and independent centers to operate the program on the local level. The State also monitors the programs and provide guidance and assistance to ensure requirements are met.


Child and Adult Care Food Program - CACFP
